It was hard to pick a theme, but I am going to trust they want to start the year off with classic content, based on their recent statements, and I think Robin Hood is probably the second most requested, after Pinocchio. Even though we usually get main story content in January, I predict we will get a new event for Robin Hood, as I am predicting permanent content for December 2021. Ironically, the beginning of the year was probably the hardest for me to predict.
TL DR for December: Pinocchio permanent content, Encanto limited time event Update 56 - Robin Hood (January 25th, 2022) Characters from the Encanto collection could include Mirabel, Luisa, Isabella, and Augustin, among others. Therefore, like Luca, I predict Encanto will hit the game a month after its debut. I feel like with the Luca update, a clear new pattern is shown where we will get a bit of time to acquaint to new theatrical characters before they come to the game. However, there is one other IP that is notable here, and that is Encanto - the new movie that comes out in theatres on November 24th and hits streaming services on December 24th! I feel like the event may open up between Christmas and New Years as a way to celebrate its streaming debut. It's been a while since we got permanent content in the first place - the last one was in January! Characters in the Pinocchio collection could include Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, Gepetto, and Figaro! It has been hinted that we will get classic content before the end of 2021, and I think the best prediction would be characters from Pinocchio as permanent content. Therefore, it wouldn't be unreasonable to think there could be two parts to the update, similar to how Update 50 was a tower challenge, and 51 was two parts. Most notably, update 54, The Mandalorian, is likely going to be a smaller update - likely a tower challenge with one or two new characters from Season 2. Now, I know it is bold to predict two IPs in an update, but I think I have a reason to do so. So, I am starting off with December 2021, since that is our first technically unknown content update (it was pretty clear that The Mandalorian Season 2 will be featured in the November update).
Update 55 - Encanto, Pinocchio (December 14th, 2021) Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've done a speculative post for DMK, and I was so excited to get these predictions out after today's livestream, that I wanted to do a version 1 of my 2022 predictions now! In my 2021 predictions, I got a few things right - including Star Wars original trilogy, Finding Dory content, Luca, Raya and the Last Dragon, and a few other things! Gee, this game is getting harder to predict as the years go on! But without further adieu, here are my initial 2022 predictions.
